Hi,
For those who want to listen, I've created a multi-track mp3
example of using the Audio Selection Sequencer 2 Nyquist plug-in.
The mp3 file is available at
http://www.shellworld.net/~davidsky/seque1.mp3
There are five tracks:
1. main melody: the default sequence of notes programmed into the
sequencer. I used a 2.5-second Nyquist pluck sound at MIDI pitch 60
(middle C) as the selected audio to generate this melody.
2. Drum: generated using a sound generated by the Bloops (mono)
plug-in I wrote a few years back.
3. Bass sound: offset in time to start halfway into the melody. 5-
second nyquist pluck sound at MIDI pitch 36 (2 octaves below middle
C). Slight flanging applied using a chorus/flanger plug-in I'm
working on.
After attenuating, I used a Nyquist bass boost/attenuate plug-in to
amplify the bass sound.
4. Maracas: Although I didn't have this sound in mind specifically,
this is how they sound like to me (after mixing with the other
tracks). Time offset to start one bar before the middle of the
melody. 0.1-second Nyquist white noise, with fast fade-in and fade-
out applied before sequencing.
5. Light fast randomized sequence: the original melody notes, at
twice melody tempo, repeated during last half of melody. Original
sound: default Nyquist pluck sound (middle C). I made the overall
transposition value 12.05 semitones, so as well as being one octave
higher than the melody, there's also a slight chorus effect when
this track is mixed with the other melodic tracks.
All sound creation, effects and editing was done in Audacity 1.2.4
using Nyquist, except for the built-in Audacity Amplify effect.
All mixing was done using headphones, so I don't know what this
sounds like on speakers.
